OVERSEAS TRAVEL DURING THE BOND PERIOD


1. What happens after I have signed a bond agreement?

As soon a student enters into a bond agreement with TSLB, the student’s particulars are placed on the Immigration watch list. This restricts the students from leaving the country without a written approval from TSLB.

2. Can I travel outside Fiji during the Bond Period?

Yes, you can. However you need to apply to TSLB in advance for temporary release otherwise you may be prevented from departing Fiji.

3. How do I seek approval from TSLB to travel overseas during the bond period?

You have to apply for the temporary release to travel overseas with TSLB at least 10 days prior to your planned departure. You may be required to make some payments before release is granted.

4. What do I submit 10 days prior to the proposed date of departure to seek temporary release?

·         Request letter addressed to the CEO

·         Passport details

·         Recent salary slips of the guarantors

·         Letter from the guarantors stating that they are aware of your absence from the country and they undertake to repay in one single payment all the dues should you fail to return to Fiji on the stated date.

·         E-ticket/Itinerary

·         Visa Copy

·         Letter from employer (if going for a work trip)

5. What happens to your application?

The application will be assessed under TSLB criteria. A risk profile will also be undertaken by TSLB and you may be required to make some payments to TSLB before release is granted.
 
If approved, TSLB will issue you a temporary release letter which you will have to produce at to the Immigration Officials.

6. What happens if I do not return Fiji as per the terms and conditions of approval?

Your award will be terminated and you/your guarantors will be required to repay the Fijian Government in a single payment all dues.
